Terms of Use

1. Eligibility and acceptable use

You may use Dahlia only if you can legally enter into these Terms and your use is permitted by applicable law. If you use Dahlia for an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.

You agree not to use Dahlia to:

• record, transcribe, process, or share a conversation without any notice or consent required by law;
• violate another person's privacy, intellectual property, confidentiality, or other rights;
• access an account, calendar, file, meeting, or system without authorization;
• distribute malware, disrupt services, or circumvent security or access controls; or
• use Dahlia for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.

You are responsible for understanding and following the recording, workplace, privacy, and data-protection rules that apply to you and your meeting participants.

2. Your content and responsibilities

Your recordings, transcripts, notes, screenshots, summaries, calendar details, and other content remain under your control. You retain your rights in that content and are responsible for it, for securing your Mac and backups, and for choosing whether to enable or invoke a connected feature.

You grant Dahlia only the permission necessary to process your content on your device and to transmit it when you request a connected feature. Dahlia does not claim ownership of your content. How data is accessed, stored, transferred, and deleted is explained in the Privacy Policy.

3. Google services

Dahlia can connect to Google Calendar and Google Drive after you authorize access through Google. Calendar access is read-only. Drive access is limited to files and folders Dahlia creates or that you explicitly use with Dahlia. You can disconnect Google access from Dahlia's settings or revoke access through your Google Account.

Your use of Google services is also governed by Google's applicable terms and policies. Google may change, suspend, or discontinue its APIs or services. Dahlia is not responsible for Google services or for content stored in your Google account.

4. AI and other third-party services

Optional features can send content to an AI provider or another service that you configure. Third-party services are provided under their own terms, privacy policies, availability, and fees. You are responsible for your accounts, credentials, usage, and charges with those services.

AI-generated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your purpose. Review important output before relying on it, sharing it, or using it to make a decision.

5. License and ownership

Subject to these Terms, you may install and use Dahlia for its intended purpose. Dahlia, its website, branding, and other materials remain protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership or grant any right to use Dahlia's name, logo, or branding except as necessary to use the application.

Source code or third-party components distributed with separate license notices remain governed by those notices. If a separate license conflicts with these Terms for the material it covers, that license controls.

6. Availability, changes, and termination

Dahlia may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, integrations, or releases. You may stop using Dahlia at any time and disconnect optional services.

Provisions that by their nature should continue—including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and responsibility for prior use—survive termination.

7. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, Dahlia is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that Dahlia will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with every device or third-party service, or that transcripts and AI-generated output will be accurate.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Dahlia maintainers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, business, or goodwill arising from your use of or inability to use Dahlia or a third-party service. Any liability that cannot be excluded is limited to the minimum amount permitted by applicable law.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as Dahlia or applicable requirements change. The updated Terms will be posted here with a new effective date. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

For general questions about these Terms that do not contain sensitive information, use the public Dahlia issue tracker. The Dahlia maintainers do not hold your meeting content or Google user data and cannot access or delete data on your Mac, in your backups, or in your third-party accounts. Manage or delete that data as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not include private meeting content, credentials, or other sensitive information in a public issue.
